Obviously this doesnt matter compared to todays standards, but for 2005 RE4 was a masterpiece of the genre. Not only did it draw in a mass cult following, it inspired many other games like Gears of War and the now standardized 'cover system' which is a feature from RE4 that was only ever used in 1 other (less popular) game before then. My point being is, if you are finding that the game is 'imbalanced' or badly designed, I highly recommend playing this game with a controller.

Personally, I like the Gamecube controller the best cuz that was how the game was originally designed for, but whatever preference you have is up to you. Just maybe understand that you have to be very patient and precise with your aiming and switching between items. And also, the Wii controller is pretty fun too! Try it on dolphin If I had to pick the biggest flaw of RE4, its the lack of ability to switch between weapons on the fly.

It would be sick if you could switch between handgun and shotgun and grenade without having to go into the pause/item menu. If somebody could make a mod that allowed switching between weapons on the fly, it would be pretty ♥♥♥♥ing amazing. Oh yea, and finally. QTEs should be in more cutscenes, I play games for engagement, not to watch a movie.
